COMMANDER'S NOTES

Greetings Comrades,

I would like to wish everyone a safe and healthy New Year. A job well done to Mike Reilly for planning a successful Christmas Party. Thank you to Jim Henk and Keith Renner for spreading Christmas cheer by passing out Christmas cards to veterans at the Community Living Center at Hines VA hospital.  The Post Auxiliary hosted a Holiday pizza party at the Veterans Home at Chicago. The party was much appreciated by the veterans at the Home.

The Post presented awards to the Niles Memorial Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy winners. Patriots Pen /Voice of Democracy is youth essay competition. The students read their essays to the Post members.

Membership is at   97.7 % as of January. Please do your best to recruit at least one new member so we can reach our 100% + goal.  "Leave no man behind” has always been the motto of the serviceman.  In battle we fought for each other, and we should continue this fight.  Twenty-two veterans commit suicide every day. If you're a veteran or service member in crisis, please call 844-394-9472

I had the honor at City Hall to present Checks to Niles Mayor George Alpogianis from Our Post.

God Bless You and God Bless America!!!

John Tomzik,

Commander
